Thank you for taking the time to offer this feedback. If they want advertise a "Premium" membership and "premium customer service" then they should actually offer it. The website has needed an upgrade for many years. Clearly their tech support is not able to fix much. They seem to be unable to write an actual honest email. They sent me a couple canned responses about how I could fix it by setting the viewing to "myself". It has been over a year and they are still "working on it". At the time I checked the bugs they were working on. It seems they only offer some of the features to iPhone users, which is odd considering how many people have iPhones.Ībout a year or so ago, I noticed that my progress ticker on the website was not working. This has been an issue that they have known about for years and they have never fixed. After at least 10 canned emails in which they did not read my original email, I finally got a straight answer that the iOS app could not do that. One issue was that I was unable to post photos on my status updates, besides what they call "progress photos". Lately I have had a few issues with their app and website. I have a premium membership with myfitnesspal. Their hope, like many app-based businesses, their revenue depends on these falsely free programs that are difficult to end - they'll likely end up with my money and I will not use their service - that's perfect for them because I take up no administration and they keep my money. From their clunky app that is filled with tedious menus that lead off the app to websites with even longer lists to sort through to their failure to notify me of pending charges, I deem My Fitness Pal one of the worst predatory schemes out there. So, if you find yourself in this same situation as we rubes have, know that My Fitness Pal makes it exceptionally difficult to get out of the "free" premium account. Moreover, they have no actual helpline phone number to call to dispute charges, ask for support, etc. As the posts below indicate, My Fitness Pal claims to not be able to refund the money directly. If that's not annoying enough, the bad business practice comes down to how they operate their finances in connection with Apple.

Obviously, that was not the case, and I was charged the $86 for a year-long premium account. Like the other people on this page, I was forced into the free premium account when I downloaded the app, assured I'd be warned before charges.
